Our time this year is coming to an end! When we embarked on this journey in August I had an idea of where I wanted to go wtih the curriculum, but you played a huge part in making this classroom what it was this year.
Next year I will be teaching 7th Grade Global Studies. I'm excited about the new opportunity and getting to see some of you
again next year. Our schedule will look different next year, so some of you I will see EVERY day, all year long. Some of you might be excited about that and others might be terrified.

Preggers is thinking about food 24/7 these days! This prompt goes nicely with my cravings. Design and describe a menu for your imaginary restaurant. Think about what you will serve? When I order something I don't just look at the title of the food (although creative titles do often times win me over) but I focus on the brief description of what is included in the dish. Make sure you have both food and drinks on your menu, pricing included as well. Use the example as a guide. Once you have brainstormed your items. design a page in the menu.

This week the 8th grade will be moving into a CIA unit looking at the Cuban Missile Crisis and declassiefied documents. I thought it would be fun if we all took at break from our 'normal' warm-ups and tried our hand at solving codes. Each day there will be a different code. As soon as you have your decoder you are going to try to break the code. (Hint! Use the inner circle letter for the code breaking, the outside circle was what was used to create the code.)

Many of you have seen Toy Story, when the owner is away the toys come to life and talk. Apply this same idea to books in a library. When the lights go down at night, think about what the books would say to each other. You need to write 15 lines of dialouge to complete this warm up. It might be easier to think about two or three different books, go with the theme of those books and then write.
